Mirror, Mirror, it’s dull I’ve found.
Let’s change things up now, this time round.
I’ll find a new game to live by,
This time I’ll laugh, while you cry.

Want to know what’s been blaring on my speakers lately?
Here’s a mash-up I’ve found on YouTube that I’ve really been wanting to pass to DJs just so my friends and I can enjoy the dance floor a little more.

Or at least that’s what I hope to make it mean =)
And I guess I will make it…
Anything I want it to be.
Kadang kala aku juga nak latih bahasa Melayu juga=P
Dah lama tak cakap di sini. Bahasa Cina pula, latih lebih banyak daripada di rumah. Haha..
Tolonglah aku, aku rindu akan tanah air aku.. Makanan mamak, kawan-kawan and keluargaku..
=(
Now that we’re done with that,
Hope my international readers don’t take offense =P
It’s not anything bad really, I’m just reminiscing about home and the language I used to dislike.
Loving the song: Big Yellow Taxi by Counting Crows.
“You don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone…”
A big, “I miss y’all!” from the random, sesat Malaysian girl in Texas.
From their album “Agony and Irony“, I found this song, Help Me.
Take a listen =)
All I can say now is, Que Sera Sera…

Out here in Abilene, TX, on a cold night…
The wind is chilly, brightening eyes and cheeks…
The stars puncture the sky with dim spots of light…
And leaves you with memories that lasts for weeks…
But darn it,
I miss KL!!!
XD

It’s strange how even after weeks on inactivity, my blog tends to continue to attract readers from all around the world.. I guess after writing so much, for so long, there must be at least one post that holds something that a reader would be interested in =)
Anyways, It has just occurred to me how long it has been since I’ve posted a poem here. So here I go.. *Stretches rusty keyboard-typing fingers*
She shivers in her cocoon,
Pulling it tight, strangling even.
Struggling to keep the cold out,
Preserving what heat she once was given.
Silken strands bite painfully into her skin,
Breaking beads of sanguine blood.
Flowing freely, only to restrain,
Choked silent cries, that’s all that’s heard.
It’s useless Child, a whisper shouts,
Startling her to struggle more.
As the cold permeates her very soul,
It fills her out like never before.
Crippled by pain, she shreds her bonds.
Disposing of her every past.
But still her body bears every mark,
Of all the memories of her torturous cast.
Scars are intricate things.
Delicate in their own.
Yet they flash and flutter, and much, much more.
Whenever they’re fully grown.
Hardened scars and a strenghtened soul.
Yet secretly still fragile inside.
She spreads her beauty for all to see,
To distract, that it may hide.

Sometimes the ghosts of your past knock upon your window, beckoning you to open up and meet the cold truth of night head-on.
Who knows what news they bring you..
Will you open up?
I did.
I learn from the past.

It’s been awhile.. But I’m planning on getting back to recording some of my older songs, then starting up on some new ones. =)
I’ve been mike-less for too long people!
But no longer..
It’s time I took matters into my own hands.
The soul-jarring beats…
The rhythmic lull of words strung together to produce chains of poetry…
The understanding of a listener…
The message of a writer…
It’s time I got back into the game
=)
“Art is never finished, it is abandoned.”
-Leonardo da Vinci (Renaissance artist)
Life is like art…
While I still live, I never want to say that I am finished with life.

There are times when I like to think of myself as though I was a photographer.
I am there, capturing the most unlikely of quirky moments that testify to my presence. Though my own image is never captured, even in the best frames of my collection.
I am always there to nag and cajole, to extract a treasured response, though I myself am reluctant to ask the same of myself.
I will always be separated from others on the other end of the lens,
By a different perspective of life.

It saddens me to read about such things happening in my home, though I’m oceans away.
It feels like accusations are crashing all around us, and we’re helpless and confused because everything seems so one-sided.
All I can say is that I would like to say sorry to those who are offended by this act, because I am a Malaysian as well, and after reading many differing views and comments from fellow Malaysians, I know I’m not the only one who wishes to apologize, and to continue to hope for a nation who will continue to be united regardless of the color of our skin, or even the difference in our opinions and beliefs.
Malaysia’s birthday is on the 31st of August, a few days away, so let us celebrate with as much pride of the hope and promise our country holds.
I’ll wave my Malaysian flag as high as I can, all the way here in Abilene, Texas ;P
Tasha and Caprice with a new song.
Check it out!

The actual remix?
Claudillea from Sri Cempaka International singing a beautiful cover of one of my favourite songs, Where Is The Love by Black Eyed Peas. Here she is performing it in the North Hall =)
Great job Claudillea!

Not everyone can be outgoing and comfortable with others…
Not everyone can smile happily forever, waving go ahead and pretending it’s fine…
Not everyone can play the social game as well as others…
Not everyone can fake smiles or ravage the gossip vine as proficiently as others…
But it doesn’t give you the right to make them feel…
Unwanted.
